I think it's amazing (especially with reality television) that the outcry is over the fact that this was televised rather than that it happens in the world full stop. If a sexual assault occurs and it's not on a television can anyone still hear it?
big brother - microcosm, macrocosm... humans are vile - did it take us this long to work that out?
i think the whole thing was oversensationalised to tell you the truth. to compare that turkey slap to sexual assault is insulting to anyone who has ever actually been sexually assaulted. it was little more than horseplay from a bunch of people who have been living in such close quarters for so long. they've been doing EVERYTHING together for so long, plus they're all so sexually frustrated because of the pressure of knowing that the whole country is waiting for them to touch themselves or each other...
something like this was bound to happen. infact, i think it's the kind of thing BB want to happen. look at the scenario, the choice of housemates, the lack of beds, cameras in the toilets, communal showering, free booze... and then it's a slap on the wrist when the boys get rowdy.
sure, in some ways it's wrong what happened was wrong, but in the end one can only really go by camilla's reaction herself... these were her friends. she was fine. i think she was more than capable of handling the situation herself.
*sigh*
reality tv should be banned. not only is it holding up the mirror to a society that is too precious and fucking DUMB to actually handle the reflection, but it is also eroding our creative industries.
KILL.
i do love gretel though... but god - what's with the bags under those eyes? are the producers LETTING HER SLEEP anymore?
I love cloud scapes, lunar japes and Chanel #90: Pirate. I intend to talk poetry but almost always end up talking food or politics. Sometimes both. I'm not as nomadic as I'd like but working on it. And I'm not high maintenance, just difficult. Respond
